There are several reasons why this could happen. There is nothing wrong with the gadget itself.
Please follow these steps to fix the problem (this solution completely eliminates any errors caused by ighome)
1) Click on gear icon on top right corner of your ighome page and select "Add Gadgets". You can alternatively click on the big blue "Add Gadgets" button
2) Select "Create Your Own Gadget" from the left menu (bottom most option)
3) Select "From a URL" option.
4) Click on "Add It Now" button.
5) Your custom gadget should now show up on your homepage as the first one in the list. Give the gadget any title say "My Favorite Stocks" and enter the following in the URL section :
Do not change the url. Please enter as-is.
6) Click on Save.
7) Refresh the browser page. You can now start using this gadget without any issues..
Enter a couple of stocks and reload the page to test to make sure your stocks don't disappear, before you load it up with all of your stock symbols.
This should solve the intermittent problem you are facing. Once you are satisfied with this, go ahead and delete the old gadget you were using.
